Who We Are

Dubuque Main Street is a non-profit organization that has served as the voice and backbone of downtown for forty years. Our mission is to strengthen the heart of Dubuque by helping small businesses, property owners, and local creatives succeed. Through events, grants, promotion, and direct business support, we work every day to foster a downtown that feels alive, welcoming, and connected.

Founded in 1985 as part of the original National Urban Main Street pilot program, Dubuque Main Street was built on the belief that small steps can lead to big change. That same belief continues to guide us today as we focus on efficiency, collaboration, and long-term community growth.

What We Do

We partner with individuals and organization to improve and promote downtown Dubuque as THE place to thrive, dream, and explore. We manage the Dubuque Farmers' Market--Iowa's oldest open-air market. We host free summer concerts under the Town Clock, the spring celebration of Architecture Week, and other engaging downtown activities.
