Following the September 11th terrorist attacks, Americans united in a remarkable spirit of compassion, patriotism, and volunteerism. On this 15th anniversary of 9/11, the best way to remember the innocent lives lost and the heroic efforts of first responders and the military, is by joining with others in service projects that meet local needs and reclaim the spirit of unity that followed 9/11. The 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance is a nationally recognized Day of Service declared by the Corporation for National and Community Service and supported by the Volunteer Generation Fund.
