Requirements:

We are looking for dependable, responsible, friendly individuals to volunteer in the Visitors Center at Camp Courageous. Visitor Center volunteers greet visitors, answer phones, give tours of the camp, sell camp store items, and may do other office tasks. Training will be provided. 

Hours:


Saturday: 8am to 12pm 

                  12pm to 4pm 

Sunday: 12pm to 4pm

What to expect:

Training will be provided to anyone wanting to volunteer in the Administrative Department but a volunteer can expect to:

Greet guests as they enter the Visitor’s Center or Pool in a professional, courteous manor Assist in answering phone calls Conduct tours of the camp Accept and distribute donations Assist with camp store purchases

Camp takes adult campers on many trips throughout the year and are in need of volunteers to help. You must be able to walk long distances, be active, on the go all day, and be able to lift.Are you interested in volunteering with individuals with disabilities.

If you would like to volunteer in our facilities department you need to be at least 18 years old or be accompanied by an adult. Any persons interested in volunteering in the facilities department will be required to sign a liability waiver. We have long term and short term volunteer opportunities. 



What to expect:

We have a lot of different tasks and projects and they vary from season to season. Tasks that we might need help with are:

Working with power tools if necessary (after an orientation and training) Indoor and outdoor work depending on the weather Helping our Nature Director (cleaning cages, cleaning barn) Cleaning buildings around camp (cabins, gym, etc) Building projects Cleaning around the camp Painting and/or staining Power washing Splitting firewood Wrapping Christmas presents Helping with garage sale Donation pick ups Remove invasive species in the woods and other projects as they come up mowing grass around camp in the winter shoveling snow
