The Community Organizations Active in Disaster group will be hosting a Volunteer Reception Center training. A Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) would be activated in the event of a disaster to intake and pair interested volunteers with opportunities to help in the community.
VRC training focuses on managing spontaneous volunteers after a disaster. We will learn how to register, assess, and assign volunteers to appropriate roles, ensuring safety, coordination, and proper documentation of hours for effective emergency response.
This will be a free training and lunch will be provided!
