Opportunities From: Volunteer DBQ

We are seeking compassionate and energetic individuals to volunteer their time to assist with childcare services. Our volunteers play a vital role in enriching the lives of children by engaging them in educational activities, fostering a safe and nurturing environment, and supporting the operational needs of our childcare facilities.

Position Responsibilities:

 Work with both staff and volunteers to assist in the direct provision of child care and to foster a loving and welcoming environment for the children.

 Play with, care for, and talk to children, offering them comfort and respect.

 Assist staff with taking care of the children which will include changing nappies, help with feeding (set up and clean up) and bottle-feeding feeding babies.

 Engage in individual and group activities with the children such as reading stories, playing music and games.  Accompany them to school (toddlers) or doctor’s appointments, when required.

 Assist staff with clean-up and general maintenance of the childcare area.

 Develop and create positive relationships with individual babies, staff and other volunteers.

 Attend volunteer team orientations and training sessions.

 Be present and on time for scheduled shifts

Volunteers must be the age of 18 and must pass a background check!

Our new Early Learning Center contains a Nature Explorer Certified playground! On this playground we have 10 vegetable garden boxes and some landscaping that needs to be maintained. The ELC is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to come down on a bi-weekly basis to help maintain our gardens and landscaping. Responsibilities could include, pulling weddings, planting seeds/ flowers, brushing up woodchips, watering plants, and more.
