Opportunities From: Volunteer DBQ

Family Promise of Grant County relies on compassionate volunteers to help provide a safe, welcoming environment for families experiencing homelessness. Because we operate a rotational shelter model, families stay at different host sites in Lancaster, Platteville, and Montfort on a weekly basis.

Host site volunteers may choose from a variety of roles, including:

Preparing and serving evening meals for guest families Evening Host – Spending time with families after dinner by visiting, playing games, helping with homework, or simply offering a welcoming presence Overnight Host – Staying overnight at the host site to provide support and ensure the safety of the families and facility

No special experience is required—just a caring heart and a willingness to help. Training is provided, and volunteers can serve as often or as little as their schedules allow. Together, our volunteers help families feel supported, valued, and hopeful as they work toward stable housing.
