Ledger Organization

The Loras College Center for Dubuque History was given a large collection of ledgers from the Dubuque County Courthouse some years ago. These ledgers detail the individuals interactions with the County government, everything from pet registrations and Library purchases to tax payments and assessed fines and are an important resource for studying the history of Dubuque. Due to the speed of needing to transfer the ledgers to Loras, they were stacked on pallets in one of the CDH's secondary storage locations and were not organized or inventoried. We need help transferring the ledgers to new shelving and organizing them to make them accessible for inventorying and cataloging. The ledgers are often oversized, heavy, and very dusty. Water and masks will be available.
