Who We Are

Opening Doors uplifts and empowers women and children experiencing homelessness and poverty. Through housing, support, and comprehensive services, we collaborate with dynamic partners to provide hospitality, hope, and opportunity to over 5,000 women and their children. Our work builds a compassionate community and invests in a brighter future, helping women and their families overcome hardship, achieve self-sufficiency, and embark on paths to independence and success.

What We Do

Opening Doors empowers women and children experiencing homelessness to move from crisis to stability through safe shelter, structured programming, and compassionate support. For more than two decades, Opening Doors has provided a continuum of housing and services designed to meet women and families where they are and walk alongside them toward independence.

Our programs include emergency and extended-stay shelter, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing—each grounded in accountability, dignity, and individualized care. From the moment a woman enters our doors, she is paired with a dedicated case manager who helps assess needs, set goals, and connect to critical resources such as employment support, healthcare, substance recovery services, life-skills education, and financial stability planning. Our program-first, trauma-informed model ensures that women are not only housed, but supported in building the skills and confidence needed for long-term success. Opening Doors is deeply rooted in community collaboration and advocacy, working alongside local partners to remove barriers and strengthen pathways out of homelessness. By focusing on healing, structure, and opportunity, we help women and children rebuild their lives and move toward a future defined by hope, stability, and home.
