Come join us to launch the volunteer initiative supporting our local tax assistance program.
All volunteers are invited to a Complimentary Volunteer Orientation Training to be held January 25th 2017, 1-3pm; 6-8pm, at the Iowa Works Building, 680 Main St #200, Dubuque IA 52001. Meal will be provided.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax assistance from late January through early April to persons who are low-income, disabled, or with limited English speaking abilities. In just a few short hours, you can learn to prepare basic tax returns or become a savings coach.
What you need to know...
Requested volunteer commitment is a minimum of 16 hours over 11 weeks during tax season.
Online training begins in January. Training takes place on January 25th at this event or on your own. Additional coaching, as requested, is available to all volunteers.
VITA sites are located at Operation: New View Community Action Agency, 1473 Central, Dubuque, and another site to be determined. Hours are 5-9pm.
