The time is nearing for processing some of the first produce from our gardens this season! This orientation and required training are the first steps to volunteering in Convivium’s kitchens.
Participants will learn the basic layout of our kitchens and the safety skills necessary to help us with future volunteer opportunities, such as: Preserving our harvests, canning, dehydrating, making jams & jellies, pickling and more. This orientation/training is intended for prospective volunteers as well as a refresher for volunteers who have worked with us in the past.
Participants will also learn about:
• Overview of kitchen-related volunteer activities
• What you can expect to gain and learn from volunteering with us
• Next steps to getting started volunteering
