Do you love art, enjoy working with children, and want to make a lasting impact in your community?
We're seeking enthusiastic volunteer tour guides for our Arts Trek program at the Dubuque Museum of Art. This exciting program brings every 5th grader in the Dubuque School District to our museum for a guided exploration of our permanent collection and current exhibition, followed by a hands -on art activity led by their teachers.
Volunteer Details:
- Program Name: Arts Trek
- Dates Needed: November 4th - December 18, 2025
- Days: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays
- Time: 9:00-11:30
- Location: Dubuque Museum of Art
What You'll be doing:
- Lead engaging, age appropriate tours of our galleries for groups of 5th graders
- Share key highlights from our current exhibitions and permanent collection
- Support a fun, welcoming, and educational environment
- Coordinate with teachers and museum staff (teachers will manage the craft activity)
Requirements:
- Must pass a background check
- Experience working with elementary-age children
- Willingness to learn the Art Trek tour curriculum (training provided)
- Friendly, reliable, and comfortable speaking to groups
