Join us on Wednesday, October 4 as we participate in the Healthiest State Annual Walk, where Dubuque will be joining thousands of Iowans across the state to walk for 30 minutes in support of the Healthiest State Initiative.
The walk will begin at various downtown locations, gathering at the Roshek building for a few speakers and lunch (you may bring your own or purchase a healthiest state walk lunch from American Bombshell). You will then walk back to your starting location to complete your approximately 30 minute walk. The Healthiest State Initiative’s goal is to make Iowa the healthiest state in the nation. One of the ways to reach that goal is by bringing communities together with an organized Healthiest State Walk on October 4, 2017 across all of Iowa’s 99 counties. We are looking for volunteers to lead walkers from various starting points to the Roshek building and then guiding walkers to return to your starting point. Locations needing volunteers:
Intermodal Transportation Center (950 Elm Street)
Port of Dubuque (meet at base of Third Street Bridge)
Roshek Building walking around Washington Park
Prudential Building (500 Main Street)/ NICC Downtown (700 Main Street)
City Hall/ Heartland Financial/ DB&T (50 W. 13th Street)
This is easy- just show up at the starting point at 10:30 and navigate your location team to the Roshek Building and back. We will provide the exact route map for each walk so you are equipped to lead.
