Description

We will be helping the City of Dubuque plant 100 street trees throughout the community on several weekends in May.  We will need lots of volunteer help! You don't have to be skilled.  We will train you.    (If you ARE an experienced tree planter, please let us know!)

When:  This sign up is for Saturday, May 15.

Teams:  We will work in teams of 4-5 people.  You can sign up as a team or as an individual and we will assign you to a team.  One of our trained team leaders will provide instruction to help each group plant properly and safely.  Shift start times will be staggered so that we can maintain social distancing and provide proper training and instruction. Youth can sign up as long as there is an adult in the group.

Start times will be assigned at a later date.  You will receive an email notification.  The project is set for 8-noon.

Tools:  We have a limited amount of tools.  If you can provide your own shovel, gloves and a hand rake, that would be appreciated. If not, we can provide them.

Clothing:  Please wear closed to shoes and plan to get dirty!   We will make sure that at least one person in each group has a safety vest to provide visibility for the group.

Waiver:  Volunteers will need to sign a waiver.  The waiver will be good for the entire year for all Dubuque Trees Forever projects.  Please complete the attached waiver and send to dubuquetreesforever@yahoo.com

Inclement Weather Plan: We watch weather carefully. If heavy rain is predicted, we will postpone the event. Trees don't mind rain so if rain is light, we may proceed. Please monitor our Facebook page. Updates will be posted there and send out via email. Keep your smart phone handy!
