We're having a "Mulching Party" on the Bee Branch (from Garfield to 24th St) on Saturday, July 17. The trees will celebrate having new, beautiful mulch to help save moisture and keep them safe from mowers and weed whips. We will provide training to all volunteers to make sure we HELP the trees and don’t HURT them.
For this group, we need 8 experienced gardeners who will prune sucker shoots and weed around the trees before the mulching teams get started later in the morning. We are starting early (8am) so we can get ahead of the summer heat.
Bring a pruner. Wear sun screen and gloves. Wear clothes that can get dirty!
Meet at the 22 St parking area at 8am. We will provide training before we begin to make sure things are done properly and consistently.
